The dancer's goal is to visually communicate to the audience the emotion and rhythm of the dance. Years of training via professional instruction and workshops are necessary to truly perfect this historical dance. The jubilant nature of this dance is fuelled by spontaneity, passion, and a sense of fun! Belly dance is otherwise known as “raqs sharki” or “oriental dance”. It’s core moves also incorporate the spirit of nature; water, earth, air, and fire. There is truly nothing like it!

About Donia

Donia is a lively and joyful dancer who brings a sense of fun to all of her performances. Donia is a professional belly dancer who performs regularly in the Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She has been entertaining for years in many restaurants, private parties, fundraisers, and corporate events.

She has locally trained with Sabra Jamal and has trained with some of the most admired dancers from the US and abroad, including Zahara, Dalia Carella, Leyla Jouvana, Bozenka, Nourhan Sharif, and Keti Sharif of Egypt, to name a few.

Donia's Shows

bellygram performance may include: An exciting veil intro, upbeat dance with zils, a cane dance, drum solo and audience participation finale (if desired). Show lengths can vary depending on venue, but typically last from 15-20 minutes. Shorter shows; 5-10 minutes are perfect for the "surprise at the office" type of party!

Donia also dances with wings (as pictured), which is a spectacular addition to a larger event or space.

I worked with Donia to arrange entertainment for a corporate function. From the first phone call she was professional and responsive. She worked to understand exactly what my group needed and how to best entertain the demographic represented. The performance was amazing! It was entertaining, professional quality, and beautiful to watch. Donia paid attention to my request to include the group in the performance and that was a huge success. Afterwards, she was so kind to take photographs with members of the group as well. The performance was a big hit and we received rave reviews.
